about
I'm a phd student studying political science, scientific computing, and statistics at the University of Michigan. My areas of interest are machine learning, natural language processing, Chinese politics, authoritarian regimes, and information control (censorship, propaganda, and surveillance). I finished my undergrad in 2011 at Stanford University where I studied political science. After graduation, I worked in the software industry for 3 years. I cofounded a Y Combinator and Andreessen-Horowitz-funded tutoring startup called Tutor Matching Service which has partnerships with over 30 universities including NYU, Caltech, and Purdue.
